In the context of e-waste, Producer Responsibility (manufacturer take-back) is the idea that the producers (manufacturers) of electronics must take them back the electronics when they are no longer functional and/or wanted, and handle those items responsibly and ethically when they do so.

(But we aren't just waiting around for favorable legislation.  We plan to divert one billion pounds of used-electronics from the waste stream in the meantime.)
