Ordinary Guy Seeks Healthy World

We estimate that the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions (manufacturing, use, and disposal) associated with one (1) cellular phone/mobile device/MP3 player to be approximately 100 pounds (45.5 kg). This figure includes a deliberate overestimate of 20%.

Every time someone buys a Cell Phone/Mobile Device/MP3 Player ToxtagTM, we purchase 100 lbs. of premium "help-build" Renewable Energy Certificates from NativeEnergy.

We estimate that the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions (manufacturing, use, and disposal) associated with one (1) desktop or laptop computer to be  approximately 2,900 pounds (2425 kg). This figure includes a deliberate overestimate of 20%.

Every time someone buys a Computer ToxtagTM, we purchase 2,900 lbs. of premium "help-build" Renewable Energy Certificates from NativeEnergy.

The above estimates are based on the data shown in Table 3-3 "Product Life-Cycle GHG Emissions for 50 Products Manufactured in California" which appears in "OPTIMIZATION OF PRODUCT LIFE CYCLES TO REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS IN CALIFORNIA." Prepared for
California Energy Commission Public Interest Energy Research Program, by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. August 2005. CEC-500-2005-110-F.
